A total of 47 surveys with aerial photography, connected with lake restoration plans, impact assessments for water intake projects and the follow-up of eutrophicated bird lakes, for instance.

2. Bird and mammal surveys.
A total of 44 surveys on topics such as avifauna living or nesting in conservation areas, lakes, bird lakes and built-up areas, and demanding surveys of birds living in mire areas.

1997: Effects of the regulation of Päijänne on the nesting of gulls and divers in Southern and Central Päijänne.

1998: A survey of literature on the ecology and nutrition of the muskrat and on its relation to water plants.

2001: Survey of flying squirrels in a planned area in Vuokatti, Sotkamo.

2000: Survey of avifauna in a sub-master plan area in the village of Lumijoki.

3. Impact assessments (YVA), environmental surveys, plan surveys and Natura 2000 programme assessments.
A total of 48 assessments and surveys connected with planning, road projects and the drawing up of plans in peat mining, for instance.

1994, 1995: The impact of a fish farming station planned for Porraskoski, Padasjoki, on water quality and water plants in Kuohijärvi and Nerosjärvi.

1996, 1997: Environmental surveys for a sub-master plan drawn up for Salpakangas, including avifauna, vegetation, moths and butterflies, and the key biotopes.

1998: Environmental surveys and impact assessment drawn up for Isosuo, including avifauna, vegetation and butterflies.

1998: Plant survey for Latvasuo, including mire type classification and aerial photography.

2000: Landscape and vegetation survey for an impact assessment to be drawn up for Isosuo, Järvelä.

2002: Natura 2000 programme assessment for Linnaistensuo.

4. Aerial photography.
More than 70 photography projects - 36 of them commissioned by customers for different purposes and the rest conducted as part of environmental surveys.

1995: Aerial photography for fishery surveys concerning the River Oulujoki.

1995: Aerial photography concerning Päijänne.

1996: Aerial photography concerning water plant work to be carried out in Ähtärinjärvi.

1997: Aerial photography on Kymijoki, covering an area from Jaala and Iitti to the Gulf of Finland.

2000: Aerial photography of spring flood in Liminganjoki.


5. NajasTM 1.0 program for water plant researchers, and other computer applications.
2 projects.

1996: Water quality register spreadsheet application for small lakes and rivers and the bays of major lakes in Asikkala.

6. Lake restoration plans and fishery.
A total of 7 plans and surveys some of which include experimental fishing, assessment of the state of fish stock, and action proposals.

1995: Experimental and management fishing in Valkjärvi.

1996: Renovation plan for Kärkjärvi, including plankton, water and shore vegetation surveys, experimental fishing, sedimentation tests, loading surveys and aerial photography.

2000: Specialist in a working group set up for the renovation of Tuusulanjärvi.

2001: Effects of the elevation of the watertable in Ridasjärvi on vegetation.


7. Bottom sediment and alluvium surveys.
A total of 4 surveys.

1996: Sedimentation survey and analysis of Kärkjärvi (ignition residue).

2002: Alluvium survey of Kivijoki.


8. Insect surveys and projects connected with environmental diversity and protection plans.
Altogether 11 surveys and projects.

1994, 1995: A national project on small water areas: Survey of shore vegetation and population in Northern Karelia, and determination of the value of small water areas with a view to their protection.

1993: Determination of moth species in a national moth follow-up survey.

1994: Survey of endangered insect species in Tulliniemi and Uddskatan.

1994: Insect survey for Västerfjärden and the drawing up of a protection plan.

1995- 1997: Insect survey for Laajalahti and a survey of the effects of grazing on butterfly and moth species in particular.

9. Bioindicator surveys, environmental protection projects and regional management and utilisation plans.
A total of 6 projects.

1993: Collection of butterflies and moths for use as research material, and species identification.

1993: Survey of plant species in Hepolampi, assessment of its use for recreational and fishing purposes, and survey of shore building opportunities.

1993: Analysis of the heavy metal content of mosses in the Mäntsälä district using the bioindicator method.

1999: Survey of the emissions of a chlorine plant by means of the moss ball method.

2002: Management and utilisation plan for Linnaistensuo.


10. Waste management and environmental risks.
A total of 4 surveys.

1993: Assessment concerning a dumpsite in Kaakkolampi, proposal for related further actions and an estimate of costs arising from renovating parts of the water areas below the dumpsite.

1997: Survey and prevention of environmental risks connected with a sawmill.

1999: Nature surveys required for a gravel-take permit.


11. Training.
A total of 5 training sequences and lectures.

1996: Teaching of zoo and plant ecology to fitness instructors specialising in outdoor physical recreation, Pajulahti Centre for Physical Education.

1998: Special training to students of biology, Centre for Continuing Education, University of Joensuu.

2001: Lecture in a water area planning meeting in the Finnish Environment Institute on 12th-13th June 02 on drawing up shore surveys in renovation projects.
